View Full Version : My beach might get trashed!
Anyone been following this ship thats started sinking off the Devon coast and has now started an oil leak? Well, thats 10mins from my house and its the beach that I grew up going to with all my friends every summer! Sucks to see all these containers and debris being washed up on the beaches that have so many good memories.
And they said on the news tonight that they expect the oil slick to hit tonight or tomorrow! :(

I know what you mean - I'm from Devon originally and I've been following this - it's shocking, and very sad. The whole region will be affected.
On the plus side, one of the containers washed into the sea is supposed to contain hundreds of thousands of £'s of BMW motorbikes.
Yeah, its fairly rubbish. Although Ive already seen people leaving with the £15k BMW motorbikes, barrels of wine, toys etc etc. One of the containers got washed up on the beach, and the bikes were still in good condition!!
blimey.. theres cars being washed up on the beach now!!!

cant now.. theres so many officials down there now and police lines everywhere, it would be impossble to get anything. You can take stuff, but you have to sign forms and give contact details so that the salvage crew can come get it from you when they've finished with the most important bits of the oil slick etc.. Its kinda scary when you look at whats being washed up - but also at the power of the sea being able to move it!!
So if they're guarding the beaches, what you need to do is hire a rowing boat, get yourself a Jolly Roger, an eye-patch and a parrot and paddle over to the beach. Then, behind the cover of some rocks, put on a luminescent jacket, remember to take off the eye patch, and stroll over to a motor bike/car. Hotwire it, then drive it off the beach claiming to be from BMW. The trick here is to look like you are totally supposed to be doing that and no-one will ask a question.
Or sign some stuff away under 'Lucy'...

That sounds far too much like someone speaking from experience..
So, yeah Lucy - if you let me put your name and address on the form, i'll go halves!? ;)
Gar! My secret is out!
Been following this some more today, and the BBC has updated the story:

so, I believe branscombe beach is now officially cordoned off and there is no access to it any more. But hey there are plenty more beaches in this neck of the woods. Might get me a BMW bike yet! ;) We're gonna be finding stuff from this ship for weeks yet, I reckon!
I found some old shoes and a tire on the beach near hear the other weekend. And an empty metal beer barrel.
I'm gonna have to use my l337 A-Team skillz to make me a bike.
