Two LG W2243S-PF 22" for £170 they only have a analogue vga connection is the only problem i can see. Anyone know of any other new fullHD res monitors for less than a £100.

My want to have a look at this (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displays/Monitors/TFT+20+-+23/Iiyama+Prolite+E2208HDSV+22%22+True+HD+Widescreen+ LCD+Monitor+-+Black+?productId=38967), its fairly cheap at £123, but it's much better than the one you mentioned and its "full HD"

Don't go for VGA. Seriously.

I was using my 23" Arianet HD monitor with a VGA cable while I was waiting for the DVI cable to arrive and the quality was meh. Once I'd got it running on DVI the picture was so much sharper, cleaner, and just generally better.

HD doesn't make a difference if it's through a piece of crap VGA cable :P

Np :)

I would reccomend either this (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displays/Monitors/TFT+20+-+23/Arianet+23%22+Full+HD+Widescreen+LCD+Monitor+-+Black+?productId=37241) or this (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displays/Monitors/TFT+20+-+23/Arianet+22%22+Widescreen+LCD+Monitor+-+Black+?productId=39058) instead :D

VGA at 1920x1080 is ok, but...

you need very good quality short cables.

Any of the 3 mentioned will serve you very well, I avoid VGA like the plague now.

The Ilyama that Monkey linked too is a very nice screen & out of the 3 mentioned I'd recommend it.

Built a system with one of those & I was tempted to keep it for myself... but didn't :P

Hi there

The iiyama and Samsung analogue 22" monitors used decent internal quality components so the picture is pretty sharp even over the analogue cable, but that is because they are high-end branded monitors.

I still agree with others here though, DVI is really the way forward and gives a sharper/crisper image. :)

Remember its the monitor, the only part of your PC you cannot upgrade and the part you use the most. So spend the money on getting the absolute best you can afford.

I take the same approach when making/buying pc's for people, keyb+mouse+monitor are the really important bits they must like, the base unit gets kicked under a desk most times anyway ....

Also, check the response time. For games you want 2ms really!
