We at OCT pride ourselves on giving detailed guides/reviews that are easy to understand

Our guide to water cooling

Here is an excerpt:

First and foremost, why put your PC under water? (No, not literally.)

Better temperatures.
Higher clocks.
Quieter running system.
Good looks.
Impress the ladies.
If you’re a lady, really impress the guys.
Whatever your motivation, you’ve come to the right place. You can accomplish all of those and then some.
Before you jump into water cooling, it’s always best to plan your water loop, from start to finish. By this, I mean from the ground up, starting with the most basic component…

Sorry to "disagree" but i would like to point out a quieter system is not necessarily guarenteed unless quieter / lower speed fans are used or a fully passive wc system is used like a reserator.

Otherwise i agree, though imprssing the ladies is a bit dubious too ;)

Thats the intention by some people. It depends what you do about it. You could have a triple rad and strap on 3 P12 Noctuas for a nice silent system (maybe use the LNA's), or some may strap on 3 San Ace High CFM fans for serious overclocks & benching. Up to the end user.

Exactly my point really.

As this post is aimed at watercooling beginners i was trying to clarify that WC doesn't necessarily equal a quiet system with high clocks, which is kind of what could have been taken from the op.

aye but including every single detail, such as difference in fans over complicates the guide, and that would be against what the guide is all about.

As for impressing the ladies, that is Hokies sense of humour...mind you Mac if you took a look at MY rig (my computer that is hahah) you would be impressed......my lass is!

I absolutely agree, going into multiple permutations of fans / rads / blocks / pumps etc would make it overly complicated.

BUT you kinda insinuated watercooling = quiet in your original post, and that isn't always true, unless specifically designed in. Hence my pointing it out.

agreed but this is a BEGINNERS guide mate, and beginners do think about the DB side of things and NOT performance. If we wanted to write about sheer performance bud , Hokie would have wrote the guide for the mnore experienced, which kind of takes the whole point away.

Ok, we will have to agree to disagree.

You basically said in your op water cooloing = a quieter running system, and, from experience, i know that isn't necessarily true, and we'll leave it at that.

I think malc124 has a good point here. It CAN be an advantage but isn't always. As for the guide itself, it seems quite comprehensive. :) Should this guide be in this section though? It's suppose to be where members post reviews based on Aria purchases...

But this isn't a review from a member of a product aria sell, that's what he's getting at.

It really needs to go into: http://forums.aria.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=94

I'm not having a pop at the article, as i think it is pretty good on the whole, i just think this piece could be a bit clearer

First and foremost, why put your PC under water? (No, not literally.)

Better temperatures.
Higher clocks.
Quieter running system.
If it said "Potentially quieter running system dependant on choice of fans", or words to that effect, then there would be no debate.

I know and as I know that Mac meant no offence i decided to cool it before it got outta hand.

For this thread to stay I will delete all comments i feel inappropriate and irrelevant to the op.
