View Full Version : Missing software product key - Order No EC1198939
This is either my third or fourth purchase from you and I’ve been very happy with all previous orders.
However there is a problem with this latest order about which I’ve emailed ‘cserv@aria.co.uk’ twice and specific Aria staff on another two occasions over the past fortnight – but no replies have yet arrived.
Here’s hoping the forum will get quicker attention than staff having to wade through their daily pile of messages.
This order was for a "Gladiator Centurion A7 Business Base Unit with Windows 7" plus a monitor and some MS Office software.
The Base Unit was delivered Monday 11 January - a fairly serious problem became apparent on Friday 15 January and this was reported to you by email on the same day (and in three subsequent emails).
The problem is that no MS Product Key / Certificate of Authenticity was supplied with the Windows 7 software provided with this unit. Without this, the software will effectively ‘die’ in less than a fortnight and it means I won’t have received what I ordered and paid for.
The Win 7 disk was supplied in an unwrapped plastic case which had been placed in the motherboard box together with the various manuals, uninstalled spares etc.
The MSPK / COA label had been peeled off the Windows 7 disk case before despatch (the adhesive patch from which it had been removed is clearly visible) and the label was neither stuck onto the outside of the Base Unit nor to be found elsewhere in the delivery.
As the forum doesn’t accept attachments I can’t add photographs of the disk case with the ‘empty adhesive’ visible – but copies were attached to my 25 Jan email to cserve.
To resolve the problem and make me a happy customer I am looking either for the Product Key /COA for the 'pre-opened' software which was supplied or for an "as new" replacement.
I live near enough to call in with what was delivered, so that you can see for yourselves and resolve the problem there and then. If this will help sort things out please say so and advise who I should ask to see on arrival.
Regards
Never tried this before so it may not work.
Hopefully here are photos of the Win 7 disk package as received - showing the adhesive patch where the important label had been peeled off.

I just had a few of these exact same computers delivered the other day.. I found that on every single one of them, I had to restick the COA back onto the case, as it had barely been stuck on.. A few of them had dropped off and were in the polythene bag, and the others were barely clinging onto the case by a corner..
Have you tried looking through all the packaging it came with to make sure it hasnt dropped off?
Looks like someone needs a lesson in how to stick a sticker down!
ennel as im sure you can understand the shops are now closed but once they are open in the morning and staff see this they will help you out.
only thing i can think of is the sticker maybe stuck somewhere out of sight but as i dont have a gladiator machine i dont know, its on the inside of the side panle to stop it getting damaged or stolen?
unless one of the guys on here has one/builds them im not sure we can help you anymore at this time :(
welcome to the forums tho :D
On the ones I am talking about, which are the exact same models, they were stuck onto one of the side panels, all in the same place. As you face it front on, I think it was the top of the left hand side panel, at the very back next to where the PSU would sit..
I reckon yours is in amongst all the packaging somewhere...

That's where mine was on my trident I think. Not at my desktop atm so I can't check...

Thanks so much Aaron for your info - and for the quick response from other folk. It looks as if there's recently been a real problem with the CoA labelling of (some of) these Gladiators - and I seem to have come off worse than you.
My label is certainly not anywhere on the base unit surface.
All the packaging (box, polystyrene ends, bag etc) are still in the same room where base unit was unpacked and is now connected up - and there's not a sign of any CoA label anywhere in the packaging or in the room.
You mention some of your labels were loose inside the packaging - I've a horrible suspicion mine may have been 'wiped off' the base unit as the polybag etc was slipped onto it, and may have finished up on the packing room floor rather than inside the packing.
Here's looking forward to the Aria reply - and hoping there may be a 'bit box' on someone's bench where 'unattached labels found lying about' are stored until they are claimed.
When mine were in the polystyrene packaging things, they were kind of under those.. Its not stuck to any of them has it? Long shot, cos it sounds like you've checked everywhere :(

no one replied to you via email yet? if so its a little odd, have you tried emailing / pm'ing Gibbo here he usually gets back quickly to you (although customer services should have got back to you by now :|)
and the windows coa you are missing is it a windows 7 pro 64 sticker?
usually the sticker is placed on the back right side case panel near the psu (when your looking at the case head on) as far as I am aware!

double check to see if its there
Thanks /)zh. Am I right in assuming you’re a member of Aria staff?
Emails to cserve on 15 Jan and 25 Jan merely got the immediate “Thank you for contacting us …” automated reponse but nothing since; neither my email to Gibbo@aria.co.uk on 22 Jan or one to Wesleyl@aria.co.uk on 25 Jan have produced a response yet.
Yes it’s the sticker with the MS Product Key for Win 7 Pro 64-bit that’s missing. The one which would have been peeled off the disk case as the photo in my post #2.
I’ve checked everything yet again – the back, front, both sides, top and bottom of the base unit case, the packing material, the inside of the cardboard box etc etc – and there are no signs.
As I reckon it should be about 65mm long x 30mm high, I think it would be hard to even me to miss if it were there :)

Hi we are currently investigating this issue, I will be in touch before the end of the day.
Please can you confirm that you have also checked the clear plastic bag that the PC came in.
Yes - plastic bag checked again. Nothing inside or stuck to it.

Hi this issue was resolved by PM on Friday.
Thanks Chris and Lee for sorting this problem. Product key received with disks this morning - Win 7 now activated.
Not sure where I would have been without the forum. Emails over 12 days got no reply but remedial action put in hand within 24hrs of posting here.:P
Thanks guys
