I think he's after the cover art tho? If it does that as well, then link me up too! ;)

I still use Winamp. I simply install all with just the basic classic skin :)

Why do you want the album covers anyway?

And another here!

Really, I thought someone into computers wouldn't have gone down the iPants route  . I've got a nice iRiver H320 which was playing videos long before ipod got around to it.

CDex is my favourite ripping software at the moment.

Fair enough.

But one thing - what format does iTunes rip to? I was under the impression that it ripped to some sort of iTunes library format.

I've got an iRiver 140.. few years old now. 40Gb, optical in/out/radio/recording etc. all for the same price as a 10gb iPod at the time. And my battery hasnt needed replacing yet either. ;)

[quote:8917a06dc5=\"PrivatePyle@Work\"]iTunes rips to .mp3 - I would avoid if it ripped to anything else! I'm not sure quite how I started an iPod bash thread by whining about iTunes software though

Have to concede to Aaron re. battery though, the battery life of my iPod had lowered considerably but I don't trust the b*stards to replace it yet. I genuinely fear the day I have to send it back to them. I still like my pod though :)[/quote:8917a06dc5]

haha, ipod bashing is too easy. sorry - i'll stop.

on the battery front - you can get a replacement battery for around a tenner now, and stick it in there yourself. it's really simple if you are comfortable taking pc's to bits.

I have to say, I do actually quite like the iPod. If it wasnt so overpriced when I bought my mp3 player, I would have probably gone for one. It just didnt have the features that I wanted, like radio/recording etc..
