I remember the days of having to set the jumpers to master and slave.

Infact last time i opened a PC it was all jumpers inside, im going to have a shock soon. :?

Make sure that the 2nd hard drive your adding has the correct jumper settings chosen on the back. If it's going on your IDE cable as a primary drive set it to primary, or secondary if it's the second device on the cable. Or if in doubt just choose cable select :)

If it's a SATA drive ignore me it works it out itself :P

Once you've added the drive press F8 or whatever to get into your BIOS to make sure the drives been detected. When all is well and good you can just boot into Windows like normal and it'll detect the drive and install drivers. then you can format the drive however you like :)

imo NTFS is more reliable.

For Windows XP or higher you're going to want to use NTFS. It's a better file system than Fat32, and means you don't have scandisk checking your drive for errors all the time :)
