Well. You guys said the C2D was better bang per £ so I went with that. Looking for a motherboard I need one with 184PIN sockets for my ram, I refuse to buy new RAM too. Any ideas?

http://www.epox.com/usA/product.asp?id=EP-5PDAJ - Saw that as a possible.

Unfortunatley a new generation of PCs has been long over due, with most pcs not obcelete for upgrade to new spec. You may aswell sell all your old system and build from scratch.

Also that mobo isnt C2D compatable

As blaine said, if you go for any new CPU, you will need DDR2 ram - no way round that unfortunately.

Wrong, try this board from ASRock. (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Motherboards/Socket+775+%28Intel%29/+Asrock+775DUAL-VSTA+Socket+775?productId=23695) It will take both DDR and DDR2 (although not simultaneously obviously) and has both PCI-e and AGP interfaces. Also supports Core 2 Duo :)
