Oh dear oh dear:fail
I laughed. But much as I love PC gaming the most, there are some brilliant games on consoles too. :)
Here comes another skirmish in the console/PC war :P

Indeed they do! I do prefer gaming on the pc but thats just because of the games I play! You cant beat a console though for split screen gaming with a mate and a pint of beer...

Exactly. Aw, see? They can exist in harmony! ;)
In the ideal world I'd have a PC, 360 & PS3 all sitting next to eachother, but I can't use the flaming console controllers now, too many years using WASD.
PC and PS3 for me.
And I still hand my mates their *** each time they come round :P
I've just got too much time on my hands I guess!
PC and 360 for me ;P but if only 1 i take PC!
oh and yes i dont like fps on console u cant beat good old keyboard and mouse ;P
If we're talking consoles... er, I've got them all. Like, all of them going back to the Mega Drive. :o

I like terminals rather than consoles myself, and my text based adventures are me installing/manipulating the Linux environment on my laptop. :p
For games though, my PC sucks and requires an upgrade, so I just use the 360, when games come out, I don't need to upgrade, they just work. :)
Do have the likes of CSS and BF2 on the PC though, for the occasional game. :)
PC and PC for me. I really don't see what's so hard about making split screen games for PC
And im sure the only reason consoles are getting ever more popular is because og how easy they are to get playing, and how easy it is for parents to buy for their kids. Also, its a trend thing, your family is called poor if you don't have the latest console and every **** game that's ever been made for it
I've never owned a console in my life, not one, not even a handheld.
I did have one of those nintendo game/watch things.
That classes as a console if you ask me :P
A mate of mine collects those ****in things
lol i had one of those watches when i was about 9 lol
Must admit though i like having a control pad though for some games and would love to have a pc high enough spec to play the games in full screen on my plasma.
hmm may have to invest in a new GPU and a laptop for the misses so she can go online whilst i game on the tv :D
I had a PacMan watch when I was a kid.
Awesomeness comes as standard.

Isnt your PC high enough to game on a plasma, I used a 4850 to game 1920x1080, thats not much better than an 8800 is it?
If I recall it was a freebie form Dixons when I got my amiga500.
'twas this one here.

Probably but would sooner have a better GPU and more memory to make sure :D

Personally I have only ever owned a Sega Game Gear.
But the Wife has an XBOX1 not that it's been used more than 20 times
Got a Xbox 360 & a Wii. plus game on the iphone too.
dont know why but prefer console gaming... although i think it's coz i've never really had a highend system and the fact i prefer to game the big screen unless on the move.
Probably but would sooner have a better GPU and more memory to make sure :D
I now play 1920x1080 on my 5770, I Just noticed that it's the 320meg 8800 you have, that might struggle a tad.
Gwan give it a try :D

OK boys and girls... calm down
only ever going to be 1 winner in the poll, but i think they all have their merits.
ps3 is still under used hardware.
xbox has the best pad ever
wii/ninty is loved by girls and non gamers
dreamcast well it was the 1st xbox imo but dam it still makes a great 8/16bit emulator.
other, well my neo geo will always have a place in my hart coz i love metal slug.
Hmm, consoles suck in general really, if you have a half decent PC. I chose *Sega console of some description*, meaning the Megadrive :D Which was epic at the time considering there weren't exactly gaming PCs out there.
I've had many a conversation over this one. There's a differentiation that you need to make with the three, 'gaming' platforms.
PC = keyboard+mouse
Console = pad thing
Wii = arcade
I hold the three as being good at what they do, entertainment. Technically, the PS3 holds my highest regard due to the innovation of the design architecture. The Wii is without a doubt the best 'arcade' machine, getting you really involved, and you simply can't beat the PC for complex strategy games, they are imo impossible to play with a joypad.
Driving games = consoles
Strategy games and FPS = PC
Hilarious fun yet midly stupid = Arcade (wii)
Considering the price point, my poll vote goes to the wii, for gaming I prefer the wii, but then I was always a fan of those big arcade machines of the 80s', the ones that had physical challenges to them, especially the point'n'shoot that after level four your arm starts to go dead ....
DT.
Showing your age there DT
tbh i was more into the table top ones with a steering wheel on each side :D
PC is my gaming platform of choice, but if I was to get any console, I'd get a PS3, mainly for GT5 and Metal Gear Solid.
It's annoying when the thread goes back in your User CP everytime someone votes.
If you unsubscribe from the thread, it wont happen any more :) Although it won't appear in your user cp if there are new posts either - swings and roundabouts! If you want to unsubscribe, look for the "thread tools" drop down menu at the top of each thread :)

Yeah, I know, but thanks :)
I DO want to read the thread still. I just thought I'd have a little whinge that was all.
PC all the way :woot:
But I have a PS3 but just waiting for GT5 really to play on it.
Plus I like the Wii for it's simple arcade multi-player fun. :thumb:
Even though consoles can do a lot of things that PC's can you still need to have a PC for everything the console wont do. I don't see the point in buying two things when one versatile thing will do everything.
Ive never had a BSOD on my PS3 :) however i have all of them, each have there own merits and the fact that they make exclusive games for each made me get them, the wii was the biggest waste of time if im honest tho, but thats now downstairs in the living room and nwo that they have launched iplayer it may get used :)
I Have to say (looking around his room) that out of all my electronics (PC, Laptop, xbox/360, PS1/2/3, DS/DSI, WII, SNES, MEGA DRIVE, 64, PSP1/3000 and dream cast to name but a few (yeah i'm spoilt XD)) you can't beat a PC for doing anything but for a good old sonic chease fest i love my Dreamcast FTW :P
I havn't voted as my opinion is similar to DT's
Pc for FPS
PS3 for others
Wii for some fun with friends
I've slowly moved to mainly using the console (360) for games. The main reason is that I don't need to keep upgrading my PC to be able to play games at their best.
You don't HAVE to upgrade to play games, the 360 is no spring chicken now so why do people assume you have to have everything on high to match it.
I'm not bashing the 360, I have 2 in my house. I just don't understand why people seem to think you have to upgrade a PC every 3 weeks or it wont match a new 360 game when the 360 is now getting on a bit.
This should be fun. I sit back & wait in true Coiler style.
I didn't mean a weekly upgrade cycle, I was talking of every 3/4 years. :D
PC and 360 for me ;P but if only 1 i take PC!
oh and yes i dont like fps on console u cant beat good old keyboard and mouse ;P
Yeah ditto. Love my 360 for fighting and adventure games and stuff, but I love my PC too much for the control, mouse and POWAH. :)
its the popularity of each that really determines whether it becomes good or not, as im currently enjoying xbox at the moment as my friends play it more online than PC :)
PC for RTS and FPS games, Console for driving games and of course the Wii for mad fun with family and friends.
