Funnily enough, as I read this post, Mr Pink by Level42 came on
Maybe not 'cool' any more, but damn he's a good bass player! He is the exception to the rule that men can't multitask - Play bass, sing and chew gum all at the same time! :D
Mark king was his name wasn't it? I think he got called kingthumb or something, very good bass player.
Yeah, Mark King - Most properly trained bass players would say he has a 'bad' technique if you're being told the 'best' way to play.. But until I can do the things he can do, whilst singing at the same time, I'm not going to critisise! Playing his lines are pretty straightforward on the most part.. Playing and singing is properly hard!!
Nickelback - Burn it to the Ground
I personal love the black horse album no matter what people say!

Didn't jay-z cover that, or something similar, seem to remember being in a rather drunken state hearing jay-z do that song.
I've been trying to find a clip of the interview with Ice-T at home where he starts showing off all his guns.
At one point he took a rocket launcher into his back yard and aimed it at his neighbour's house.
I think it was on The Word.
I used to love the word, very strange prog.......maybe because I only saw it a few times sober right enough.

Yeah Jay-z covered it in 2004

Jay-z is often S.lagged off for doing more covers than originals and even then it's just an original rap over a large samples of a song instead of a new mix.

HA HA HA! Stuck in the eighties or what
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladyhawke_%28musician%29
Born July 1979 (age 30)
Her debut single, "Back of the Van", was released as a digital download in 2008. On 19 May 2009, "Back of the Van" was re-released in the UK.
Hence
HA HA HA! Stuck in the eighties or what
:D
"The Observer grouped Ladyhawke in with other singers gaining notice with their distinct fashion, 1980s references, and androgyny, including Lady Gaga, Little Boots, Lissy Trullie, and Elly Jackson's synth duo La Roux.[7]"
Seems to be abit of a fad.
Yeah, everyone seems to be big on the eighties right now. Dunno why myself. There wasn't much good back then, so why are people trying to replicate it? :P

You have a point as on trying to think of any decent music from the 80's results in a blank.
Actually, come to think of it, there was some good stuff, but not pop music
AC/DC - Back In Black - 1980
Beastie Boys - Licensed to ill - 1986
Nirvana - Bleach - 1989
Few Metallica Albums :P
Led Zeppelin - Coda - 1982
KMFDM - Don't Blow your Top - 1988
The Cure - Pronography - 1982
The list goes on :P But i just thought i'd list some of my favorites
Quality, love Smashing Pumpkins, as in the band, not actually smashing pumpkins up

Im listening to the greatest band to ever exist, Tool :)
New Hot Chip album on the way in today, not bad but like the last one has a way to go before catching "The Warning"
Had Disturbed on while playing GTAIV.:)
Disturbed are all right, i have to say, despite the gimmicky commercial sound of the band, they do have some catchy songs
