View Full Version : I really hate Itunes!
So the missus wants some new Mp3's on the shuffle for the gym later and since i'm now running a clean install of W7 and Xp on my dual boot its not installed.
Why can't I drag and drop my MP3's onto the shuffle :mad:
Instead - download Itunes, enter previous username, forgot password, reset password, check email, check junkbox, reset password, get into itunes, down load several updates, reset pc, reload itunes, load tunes into library, convert to ipod format, sync ipod, put tunes on ipod, disconnect - Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr so long winded . FAIL

I hate itunes.. Its terrible how badly programmed one bit of software can be and the need for it to sync with your ipod is a bit of a joke to be fair... Trust apple!

To make matters worse it installs so much spamware/failware which starts up with your pc, updaters, etc etc.

It's just PC that iTunes is rubbish on. I bet on a Mac it's epic.

Indeed it is.. Its one of those areas i think apple just couldnt be bothered with... Its worse (dare i say it) than anything microsoft have produced and that really is saying something.

its just the most unintuitive-wear-your-mouse-out-with-excess-clicks piece of bloatware going
itunes is my least favourite piece of software EVAR.
It's the sole reason I don't own an iPod. Just horrible. Ugly, clunky, restrictive...
Windows Media Player or VLC all the way.
my sony walkman is drag n drop :thumbsup:
Ok so the songs i'm adding are spread accross 3 folders in a larger folder - in add new folder you can't actually hold down CTRL and choose all 3 folders you have to do it one by one :(

Oh god iTunes, don't remind me.
I use Winamp for all my 12k tracks of music... Excellent iPod support with drag/drop - and you can remove songs without removing it all!
If you have a huge library, I'd definitely recommend Winamp.

Coiler, you know strictly speaking you don't need to use itunes right?;)
is it just me then that has no issues with itunes....
all setup ok and i just drag and drop into itunes sync phone and away i go :)
got a walkman mp3 player and its no easier on there infact i'd go as far saying itunes is easier :)
I'd like itunes to have some basic features like visualisations and some nicer skins... :/

Thats why I stopped using it, always installed bonjour and updater etc, and wouldnt function without them.
You can get around having to use itunes though, and have your ipod able to just drag and drop.
Creative products and gold old windows explorer FTW :P

I've become a Win7 fanboy, I have to admit it. When things just work, like a Win7 machine being picked up on a network by a PS3 as a streaming server. There are some tasks that are nicer on a mac .... which is why so many of them found the way into Win7 :rofl:

Itunes does have visualisations and skins :confused: not to the level of say Winamp that has a massive following of Llamas, but htey do exist.

yes and illegal if you dont own the license for that download.

I hated itunes, Untill i got an iphone, Now i think its ok:D
Once you get it setup all you have to do is dock the phone and it instantly takes a backup and syncs everything.
So if you have added a new track to you music folder and you have "all music" ticked in itunes all you would have to do is sync the phone and its already done for you!:)

Alexnifty told me off for installing iTunes on his computer last year because it caused a BSOD. Now he uses it all the time for his iPhone :P

I only problem i can see with itunes is that if you wanted to get a different phone. Will have problems getting your contact list etc out from it.
Instead of iTunes, use something like Sharepod. ;)
I believe there is a foobar plugin for iPods too, although I haven't tried it.
I too hate iTunes, and its associated products.
I swear that once you've download Safari, soon you've got iTunes, Quicktime, etc. Without even realising it. :p

To get around that problem, you'll have to stick with Apple for life :P I'd be too lazy to transfer the weekly new podcasts that are automatically downloaded in iTunes onto a non-Apple player.

Exactly why i have no issues with it. and i can drag & drop my apps straight into itunes too. to me it's easier than appoint a scouse ref to help city get something outta a game they have no chance of winning :mad:

Defo. There's a reason I stopped using Limevirus.

Gotta agree, Finds pretty much most stuff i want and dont mind the odd advert.
Not been doing new signups for a while though i think.
I must admit to never having the displeasure of using itunes.

haha i havent touch itunes nor ipod or iphone haha ...... gimmick to me nout i cant do with anything else thats been around for years longer and can fix myself ....with out the need for fancy shop.

I've never really got on with iTunes either.. Just seems a little too clunky and limited for me..

Demonoid died for a good few months, with no access available at all. However it did revive itself a few weeks ago and is running fine now :)
