Can we have a dedicated area for "reviews".

I like writing up reviews and I get through a hell of a lot of kit. If I take time with things I can make some reasonably good reviews biased from a user opinion rather a reviewers whos opinion can be tainted as they get to use high end kit from time to time.

I have already thrown together a small "preview" of what the intel X25M drive can do and what 2 can do it raid0. I feel with a proper review section that slowly builds up over time you may attract and keep more members busy here.

On a side note If theres no need to scan the web for hours because theres a review (even if small) to hand then folk may stick around?

Just a thought!

I have plenty of kit to review to pass the time and would like an area to be able to do it in.

There used to be one actually! But yeah, I agree it would be good to have back if it was definitely going to be used!

I seem to remember one too but I wasnt sure if it was here or on another forum. Ive been signed up a while but never really got in to it here as it was a little quite. Now things are picking up Im enjoying it a hell of alot more and as such wish to contribute in a more productive way than just posting to keep the forums rolling over.

Oh yeah this sounds like a great idea. I know people post reviews already but they're scattered around the forum so this would be a neat little solution.

Indeed. A remote control tank with rotating turret in all 3 axis! Took a while to get used to but it was rather cool! Best of all it had a proper RC battery and charger so it lasted a fair while.

Reviews section is always good. It was when the competitions started it went down hill really, as loads of people started trying and didnt produce some very good stuff (myself being an example :p)

You had to review something purchased from aria. The reviews were then read by whoever and a winner decided. A prize was then sent out. I happened to win a tank a couple of years ago, it is literally one of the most fun lads toys you can get and at about 30" long including turret it was huge!

Didn't have to be purchased from Aria though, was anything you wanted.

Sounds like a great idea! I know that the review forum has already been set up now, but maybe if we could have like an 'Aria Knowledge Base' with reviews, tutorials etc? Seen it work well elsewhere. Just a thought

My helicopter caught alight in mid air.. Didnt half make a cool crash - proper smoke and spinning out of control etc.. Although, Aria then sent me another one within 24hours, no questions :) Which was handy actually, as my housemate then flew the new one into a ladder and snapped one of the rotors - but I had spares!! :D

Aria had to sell it though....
