Running around in circles?!

Hi there guys.

Quick overview then:

I am trying to RMA my Radeon HD4870 GPU... So I do the RMA on Aria's page, which says that it has a direct manu' warranty on it and that I should approach them on it.

I did so; They told me it was with Aria, So I emailed you guys, (nearly 2 weeks ago now) but I still haven't had a response....

So, I am just wondering... Since it's you guys who do the RMA... Would you mind clearing things up or doing the RMA for me please?

The card runs at full fan speed and wont show any display on my monitor.
The odd thing is that the card runs at full fan speed when just in the pci-e slot, with no pci-e power connectors. ODD RIGHT?

I have tried the card in a PC World system (£15.00!!!!!) and that showed it didn't work in another system.
I have also tried different cables, different connections.

HI there

If the card remains at full fan speed when powering the PC on then its definetely a dead card.

A working ATI card will come on at full fan speed and as soon as its passed its internal test the fan speed will drop and the computer post.

So sounds to me like you definetely have a faulty one even more so that you have had the same results in another PC system.

thanks for the final advice there! I did think it was strange!! Hopefully will be sorted tomorrow.

Anything I can do in advance? boxes/cables? Btw, just to say: it didn't come with a xfire bridge or dvi-vga adaptor like some 4870's do.
