Picked up a few things from Aria last night. Bit shattered, was up till 2am. Had to be up at 5.30am today

Staying on the AMD platform for now still. Got the rest of the Athlon/Phenom II chips to bench through before i move to Intel unless AMD come out with there new line up sooner!

Plan here was just to get my DDR3 upgrade sorted. Been on DDR2 for the past.. god knows. Never needed to upgrade really due to AM3 chips supported on AM2+ boards.. that and me OC'ing my DDR2 past 1200Mhz with tight timings.

Out with the old, in with the new!

Picked up (many would say) the best AM3 board right now (along with MSI's GD70), the Gigabyte UD5P (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Motherboards/Socket+AM3+%28AMD%29/Gigabyte+GA-MA790FXT-UD5P+AMD+790X+%2B+SB750+Socket+AM3+Motherboard?pro ductId=34884).

Also picked up a 4670 from Sapphire; the Ultimate Edt. (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics+Cards/PCI-E/ATI+Radeon+4000+Series/Sapphire+ATI+Radeon+HD+4670+%22Ultimate+Edition%22 +512MB+GDDR3+PCI-Express+Graphics+Card+?productId=38669)

I also have some cracking RAM from Super Talent; their top of the line Project X Series. 1600Mhz DDR3 w/ stock 7-6-6-18 timings & lifetime warranty. This babies have been setting some nice records and came out on top in a DDR3 1600Mhz review i saw for overclocking.

Got some pics. There a bit shoddy mind. Was in a rush to get it all set up.. too excited you see

Heatpipe goodness on pope board and GFX card :D

I had a brief look in the BIOS.. very comprehensive!

Got the weekend free, so i'll be doing an Overclocking review then. Maybe RAM too if i have the time.

gigabytes ultra durable 3 boards are ace, everyboady i know who has swapped to one can clock their cpu higher than it would in other good boards and they run cooler.

love mine me, loads of fun once you understand which option does what.

Hey RawZ, can you run a mini review of that 4670 off please?? Im tempted to buy one for a HTPC but am torn between that and the GT240.

Looks brilliant Tom! Can't wait for the review :D How far do you think you can clock it?

4670 would be better for a HTPC I'd think, native audio over HDMI.

Nice stuff though Tom, should have some fun with the UD5P and your magical bucket of icee ;)

ahh ok.. so you'll be trying to unlock the secrets of the QPI and all the other secrets surrounding intel cpu's.. gud gud.. when you're there tell gigabyte to actually make some good looking boards then they might get a new customer ;) baby blue and white just really grosses me out..
