At the end of last week, I had to do a few miles driving. The road leading out of my town was fairly snowfilled, but the thing that really surprised me was the size of the drifts along the edge.. Bearing in mind, these were not balanced on hedges or anything but rather drifted up against them.. They came about 3ft into the road on either side at some points, and this is on a very main road..

The one with the car in it was about 2-3 miles outside my town, and the rest were about 5 miles out, but quite a bit further uphill. Amazing what a difference in size it made! Bearing in mind this is devon, too!

How do we know it's not just a big verge on the side of the road covered in snow? ;)

Good pics! could bury a car if one of those slipped

Mate lives in Macclesfield, up by the cat and fiddle pub the roadside drifts were covering up 6 foot road signs etc, some off the track farm roads were above the waist in depth :surprised:

Some amazing Mountain bike downhill if you drop accross Wildbourclough opposite the pub itself, entire sections with rocks the size of baby's heads, when the weather bad your literally descending down a river :clap:clap:clap
