Comes with thermal paste or have I been a noob and forgotten to order this too?
Hi there
Not 100% sure but as its a kit I would presume it will come with some sort of paste yes. :)

+1 to the Gib-ster ;)
Yeah it has pre applied thermal paste.

but its only good for 1 fitting so get more if you need to refit :)

aha. Cheers for the info. It's at the depot at the moment. awaiting delivery. will let you know how it goes dudes. cheers ;)
I've been looking at this alot lately and have heard it needs an additional fan to run well in a push/pull configuration to optimise its performance due to the radiotor fan being mounted on the rear exhaust fan of most cases which runs contrary to the concept of the cooler which uses the rear fan to suck in cool air from the rear fan. However, once it's up and running it's performance is as good as any of the Air Cooling solutions available.
If you get one can you give some feedback on how you found it as I'd be very interested in getting one myself?
Thanks
I have bought a H50 from aria, the temps are awsome, about 10-13C at desktop and less than 20C in crysis warhead Q6600 cpu (not overclocked yet but plan to do it), HD5870 graphics, all installed in an antec 902 case the annoying thing is a buzzing coming from the pump.

Yeah I'll keep you update on how it goes! Going to be home at around 3 ish today, off out for a house party later though so I'll probs post tomorrow.
I was hoping the W/C would be quiet, with no buzzing or anything like that. argh!
Possibly against the AMD stock fan, which is noisey as hell, it would be better?
Who knows, although those temps are WAYY cold!

first impressions: BAD.
Only though cause I did a quick boot-up on the system with it installed. getting temps of 48-53 ish. NOT good, seeing as my stock was going to about 30 mark.
I know that some things could be a-miss here:
First, should I have cleaned the processor from previous cooler?
AND
which fan headers should i put the connections in, e.g:
the one for the pump should go in the fastest or should the fan go in that one?
Anymore ideas would be helpful.
Think it's either of those 2 things...
Be sure the fan is not drawing heat from inside your case mate. That has been the problem with quite a few of these.
Check this out to see if it helps you at all..

Watercooling can sometimes be about getting a quiet machine, not a supercooled machine and most of the closed loop kits fall into the keep it quiet category. To answer you questions, yes you should have used heatsink cleaner before using the waterblock, especially if the block has the paste pre-applied as many do. You either clean the cpu & block and use your own paste, or just clean the cpu. Remnants of old paste can lead to ineffective heat transfer for so many reasons.
The pump needs to go direct to the PSU in my opinion, not a board connector. It needs unfaltering, unaltered supply of volts, the radiator fan should be plugged into the CPU FAN header on the board, let the board decide on tolerance for cooling.

Concur old crusty thermal paste left on a CPU can drastically effect the bond between heatsink block and CPU metal. You need to completely remove all old gunk with rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol)
I use a tin of this for all cleaning needs, works great on mountain bike disk brakes too!

HUZZAH.
It wasn't installed properly! The bottom of the water cooler wasn't on my processor :(
I am noob. :closet
so what are the results now ?
DT.
I'd be interested to know if you tried the Pull/Push Config or just used it as intended?
Did it fit ok into you 300?

Temps at the moment, just came off playing borderlands, so a bit warm, but its on 26c at the moment. In the cold yesterday, was around 24. And when I first set-up my room was cold anyways, and I had push/pull on, it was 20/21.
The extra noise, really isn't worth the 3c.
All in all, a pretty wicked purchase.
p.s, fits fine in 300.
Cheers for the feedback Toby. :)
So are we saying its not really worth it?
I have 2 120mm fans on my CPU at the moment and if i bought a H50 i would only be loosing one, but then gain a buzzing sound?
I heard that some buzz while others are very quiet. i think the worst ones were the 1st batch but it's something that has put me off so far too.

All depends if your using a different cpu :)

Mine is one of the newer ones, with the i5 fittings inc, and it does buzz a bit, ive actually had 3 of these believe it or not and non of the others did :(

Might be something to talk about on the corsair support forums. If they say get it returned then just contact aria and let them know.
Shouldn't be buzzing, although it does for quite a few people.
I take it the buzzing is from the built in pump?
If it is i would be contacting corsair.
