I think I agree with the entry requitements limit and all the implications that not having one had on the existing forum members basically having no chance of winning.. But I also thing that this competition was the first one Gibbo has done here, and the first one that Aria has bothered with for a good couple of years, almost - so now might be a good opportunity to let things lie, and for everyone to learn from how this one went, to improve future ones. Maybe Gibbo should start a thread for competition rules/suggestions etc..?

For example;

I have a good friend who does artwork for 2 record labels, i'm sure i could get him to knock something christmassy up., that gets me in the competition.

I then get my friends on facebook to open an Aria account and vote for me, never to use the account again?

I already congratulated Rawz on a deservedly winning entry, well done mate, i don't think i could spend 12 hours designing a banner, no matter the prize.

I voted for Biodoid BTW because i liked it.

For future competitions that involve designing something I shall simply decide the winner and there will be no poll.

But competitions will be open to all forum members new and old, however any members who I think have only joined up to simply enter the competition and not contribute anything to the forum will not win.

I agree about the editing of the URL/image etc.. but PNG files can have layers. They are basically the Adobe/Macromedia version of a Photoshop PSD file :)

Guys I believe it's when I put the banners against the forum to show how they looked that when I dragged and dropped wills banner it clearly took the Christmas out and I never noticed. But as will posted it shortly afterwards and I edited my original post to include the fixed version will has had equal chance.

No one has posted here requesting they want their vote changed, does anything now wish to remove their vote for Rawz to vote for Will instead?

Then the fact will has sent a lot of pm's asking people to vote for him is just a joke and if I see anyone mis-using the pm system like this again well say bye bye to your pm ability. It's a very un-sportman thing to do.

Then the fact on the first vote Rawz was winning hands done and all banners were displayed correctly and on the second vote Rawz won yet again.

I think it's fair to say Rawz has won hands down and I find it rather petty that people react like this that they lost.

All the runners up here will be getting a decent prize and there is gonna be many more competitions but in future for competitions of this type I will decide the winner to prevent what has happened here and decision will be final.

Personally I think Gibbo has done a brilliant job of this even with loads of people *****ing because they didn't win.

I would concur 100% with this.. Even if there were some issues with the voting system, I think rawz got SO many more votes than the next person that even if you take those things into account, he would have probably still won :lol: At the end of the day, he got the most votes in both polls. So well done :)

But also, as I said before, I think that this competition was a good learning curve all round, it was the first one Gibbo has run here and its the first one Aria has run for a LONG time.. So it will have teething problems, but I'm glad to see them back :) And hopefully I'll actually get to win something decent this time around!! :)

Thank you for the congrats. It's a nice feeling to actually win something for a change. Especially just before Xmas when money is very low and I'm currently out of work sadly. It must be over 4 years now that I've actually won something from a competition, and what better way with a stunning prize! Once again cheers Aria, and ta Gibbo for the comp!

After spending close to 12 hrs making all 6 banners the past week, it makes it all the merrier to actually win. Thank you for all the votes, very much appreicated! To replace my existing monitor will be such a joy for me and the Mrs. I have an unbranded none-widescreen 17" CRT with a 4" slight faint crack on the monitor. To have this new lush screen this week with be awesome!
