Hi there,
I have recently purchased the following...
CM-Stacker 810

Sapphire RD580 Pure Socket AM2 CROSSFIRE Motherboard

Enermax Noisetaker 600W EG701 AX-VE PSU - SLI Ready
http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=16569
2x 1GB PC 6400 Corsair Ram
http://www.myshopping.com.au/SP--79350_Corsair_TWIN2X2048_6400PRO_2GB_2x_XMS2_1GB_P C_6400_DDR2_RAM
Ive got everything in the case and its all fits nicely but i have a really stupid problem
I cant find a heatsink/fan to fit the cpu !
i looked at the board and it said \"socket am2\" so on the internet i noticed this thermatake heatsink said am2 so i bought it, it doesnt fit !
http://www.thermaltake.com/product/Cooler/Retail/cl-p0025/cl-p0025.asp
I then purchased another towerheat sink that said it supported am2, it didnt fit either ! So im sat here with these 2 massive heatsinks/fans costing £30 a go  Can someone please please please suggest a tower heatsink with a fan similar to that thermatake one or any fan/heatsink to fit this motherboard before i pull out what little hair i have left !
Thanks
PS - Sorry its long
Make sure you do your own research on these, but the HSF's below are all listed as being AM2 compatible.

I had a look at the cooler you mentioned in your post, and I cant see anywhere that it says its an AM2 heatsink?
Application: AMD Athlon 64/Athlon 64 FX AMD XP Intel P4 478 (pin) and Intel Socket T
And just so you know - you arent meant to link to competitors ;)

Thanks matey great help i think iam going to go for the Zalman one as ive heard there well known for there silent fans. Sorry about the linking
Zalman is a good choice. I quite liked the look of the Scythe Ninja, but i havent read any reviews yet. looks like it could do a nice job too!
Have a read of some reviews before you buy and see which one will suit your needs the best.. :)
I have fixed the Links, Not the Down Under one, as I think they are too far away to worry about ;)
btw you could have bought the Enermax Noisetaker 600W EG701 AX-VE PSU - SLI Ready from us

I got £400 to spend on a graphics card thats got to be PCI-E to fit in my motherboard can anyone recommend something outragiously expensive and fast? (No, its not for me iam not that daft)
Regards
Jason
*Edit* I think i did get my PSU from you lol
Being a Linux Monkey who dosn't play games anymore I'm not very well up on Graphics cards
but this fits the budget
http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductsList.asp?Name=Albatron+GeForce+8800GTX+768 MB+DDR3+
it is also on Super Special ;)
http://www.aria.co.uk/specials.asp?productid=25413
full list ordered high to low

But I'm sure a real expert will be along soon

perhaps you might be able to answer this question then...
i was under the impression that the more memory a graphics card has the faster it will run, for example 1024mb ddr is better than 768 and 512mb but i see a lot of fancy 512 and 768 cards almost double the price of 1024mb and im confuzzeled ! :?:
It’s all about the type/speed of memory
the Qty of memory is just how much data you can hold
Speed is much more important when it comes to performance
With graphics cards DDR3 is faster than DDR2
Another thing to watch out for with the amount of memory is the
\"Supporting\" 1024MB
This can mean that the Card only has 256MB DDR2 but makes up the difference by using System memory. This is more common in PCI-E cards
Great if you have plenty of system ram 2-3GB , but the amount of memory used for graphics will reduce relative to the amount of system memory you have
NB this is only an overview, I have not really looked into graphics cards in a long while.
I'm sure someone will put meat on the bones and correct me ;)

o_0 owww iam glad ive asked lol i would have just went out and bought 1024mb DDR lol
Just so iam crystal clear...
This graphics card
http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=25413
wouldnt fit in this motherboard
http://www.aria.co.uk/productinfocomm.asp?ID=25239&SpecialStatus=1#comments
because the motherboard vga and ram slots only support up to DDR2 800mhz :? ?
but what about a
Sapphire 512Mb Radeon X1950XTX Toxic Edition VGA Card ?
That gfx card will work fine in that motherboard.
ANY pci express graphics card will work in ANY motherboard with a pci express slot.
The memory you are on about is sytem memory and the memory on the graphics card is completely seperate to that.
