Am wiring 775 Mboard to an ATX midi case. There are 2 pin connectors for HDD, Reset, Power on and Power led. Can someone please advise on polarity. Each 2 pin plug has a white and a coloured wire. Different colour on each. Each plug has a little down arrow against the coloured wire. Does that mean earth/ground or is it the white wire in each case? Any advice gratefully appreciated.

It should tell you in the motherboard manual which way the wires go. If you are unsure which wire is ground, it is the white ones.

However, it wouldn't matter which way around you put these wires on the motherboard. All that would happen is the LED lights wouldn't work, in which case you reverse the 2 wires. The power switch and reset switch wires will work either way round.

In other words, if you haven't got the manual to hand, just so long as each pair of wires were placed on the correct pair of pins, you can just put them on and see if the LED's work ok.

Many thanks for that. The manual does show the polarity but the wires/plugs themselves are not marked.
As you suggest I'll try it out and change round if it doesn't work.
Thanks
Don.
