i was just wondering if it is possible to changer the voltage your ram thought the bios.
I'm gettin some new ram and my motherboard spec says the DIMMs slots are 1.8v but my new ram is 1.9v.
will i b able to lower the voltage of my ram through the bios.
any help???
Unless your bios is very restricted then yes you should be able to although it should default to whatever the voltage is set to on the memory BUT if your pc fails to boot because your memory is running at to low a voltage then you may need to alter the voltage manually by booting up with another set of memory fitted first save the settings then power down fit new memory then boot up again and hopefully it will be ok.
I have known a few people who have had to use this method when Conroe first came out as the iffy first bioses didn't detect the correct memory settings.
