Yeah, it's an ok idea. I think we have made this one of the nicest forums, and we always say hello and have a laugh (with Mighty, @ElRob)...

There's been more noObs than ever lately, so we must be doing something right

That's a very nice idea PP. Let me speak to a couple of people tomorrow. :D

I'm so glad this has turned into such a lovely place to be. I think the key to our lovely community is balance. The feedback that we get from you guys is priceless and hopefully, we provide you with a pretty pleasant area to discuss IT related issues..

I've been on some forums where when you join you have to say a brief hello and introduction in the Introduce Yourself section before you can actually see/post in the rest of the forum..

Anyways wheres Mr Hankey when you need him

I think I prefer PP's idea. Pointing out the fact that the 'Who are you' post exists means people can choose whether they want to include something. If it was compulsory, we'd probably get a lot of pretty uninterested posts from people that just wanted advice or to PM one of us.
And often one of the reasons people feel so comfortable in forum communication is because of the anonymity of the process.... Wow, I just went into 'work speak' :)

Will get more people visiting if Aria had a huge banner on there website home page with something like:

Visit our forum for tech talk & General Spam :D

And in the banner say about the competitions that you can enter if you become a regular poster.

To begin with, we did have a pretty impressive invite to the Forum appearing on the top banner of our site.. but it disappeared after a while when other things started to take over.
With it being Christmas, there is so much going on that I won't be able to include that top banner any time in the next couple of weeks but at some point in the New Year, I'll definitely get it back there! Give me a shove in a few weeks and I’ll get on the case! :D
