I have an IBM Netvista 8305/2EG computer doing nothing but cant find any info on the board to upgrade, ibm states the board will take up to 2gb of memory, i have been told the memory thats in it is DDR PC2100 200 mhz and thats on the label but various online tests are coming up with 133mhz, im not a memory fanatic so dont know what the hell im on about or what to look for, so can someone recommend what im supposed to be using :?
Thanks All

That's what Crucial says, which seems to differ from what you've been told.
They're generally reliable at this kind of thing.

The board dictates the speed the memory runs at so there shouldn't be a problem running a couple of sticks of PC3200 which will underclock automatically.

Just bear in mind - especially with generic memory - that compatibility can't be guaranteed so there's always a risk the board and memory won't get on despite being the correct type.

Sean, crucial says it will only take a gig yet ibm states 2, they did this with my laptop saying maximum was 512 and only one slot yet there is a gig max and 2 slots....thats the reason im holding back with crucial at the moment

David, would it not be easier taking the comp to the likes of pcworld or similar and just saying upgrade to 2 gig?, any problems can then be sorted there and then...dont want to mind at the prices but a lot of places wont do returns on memory i believe

Thanks guys
