I just felt like writing the full name as topic title

Mines Stable @ 3.5ghz which kinda killed Will.
I could possibly do more but I don't want to up the voltages above 1.5V, temperatures are always around 28-37. :D

Big pic from my big crt monitor.

Nice, but why you using the ancient version of super pi?

19.826 seconds. Stock was 24-25 seconds.

Nice overclock :)

If I may suggest, try ramping up the Northbridge Multiplier to 12x for a Northbridge Frequency of 2400MHz. High Northbridge speeds is when Phenom II really comes into it's own :)

For real? I don't know much about OC'ing; its my first attempt. I read some stuff but thanks for the tip, i'll go for it.

I don't have a clue whats going on,
Everest is reporting core temperatures @ 25C idle, CPU temperature 40C. (also reports motherboard temp is roughly 3C higher then cpu temp.)
PC Wizard 09 saying 33C
HWMonitor saying 25C
Coretemp saying 25C
AMD overdrive is reporting 33C for FAN0 (running @ 700ish rpm, which changes up and down)
FAN1, theres nothing connected yet it says 38C??

What the hell is going on. I've oc'ed to 3.5ghz and I dont want to run @ 40 idle, thats not safe (is it?)

Should I go and buy some more fans to keep it cool as I have 3 fan slots unused atm.

Coretemp and HWmonitor are the ones I would believe.

i'd be inclined to believe core temp too but unless you live in an igloo 25c, even idle, seems a little too low.

40c idle is perfectly fine, its the load temps of 60+ you need to start worrying about.

Ok, thanks man. Just wanted to make sure, ya know?
I think I was looking @ the wrong temps in amd overdrive, they match with coretemp and hwmonitor now.

What does raising the northbridge multiplier do?

gives the whole system more bandwidth, so it can stretch its legs. got my 955 at about 2500.

AOD isn't showing any voltage changes but I have done so in the bios, CPu-z confirms this.
AOD is showing a NB of 2.4ghz though.

It sounds like it is at a fixed multiplier anyway then, mine was set to auto so kept it to approx 2000.

Well I have an AC freezer 64 pro, i dont know if thats making a big diff or not.
Under 10 minutes of Prime 95 maximum heat temperatures are @ 34C cores, 49 CPU. Which temp shouldn't be hitting 60c, the cpu or the core?
Fans @ auto (so never runs at 100% i think, 600-800 rpm idle, 1500-1700 rpm load, max speed is 2300rpm)

Core temperatures are:
23 desktop idle, 25 web browsing/msn, 34 load

CPU temperatures are: 38 desktop idle, 40 web browsing/msn, 49 load

which one shouldnt go over 60c? (cpu i think)

Just turned case fans up to medium (noisier :( )
Cpu temp drop of 2C.
@ stock, core was 22 idle, cpu 36 idle. Abit high for a cpu @ stock =/

Just changed the cpu fan from auto to 70%,
cores idle @ 19, web browsing @ 21
cpu idles @ 34, web browsing @ 34 too.

3.5gHz isn't bad, but most people tend to get 3.6. I can reach 3.8 stable but I get worried at the 1.6v so it didn't stay there, it's living at stock or 3.6 now :-)

Those temps look about right - it's a very cool running chip, even when you clock the nuts off it. At 3.8 I was getting in the region of 48-53.

They're more than happy to sit at ambient+3c at idle. Lovely chips.

I think my chip could probably hit 3.8GHz on 1.6V but I've never tried.

I keep mine usually at 3.625GHz @ 1.45v

3.75GHz is stable @ 1.51v
