Hi, my grandfather refuses to format his HD. He now has another PC with different CPU and mobo and would like to use his existing HD system disk in the PC.

I no from previous experience that it's not a case of just hooking it up and away you go. I tryed a few things and ended up formatting.

Is there anyway to do this ?

Cheers fellas

Nope, Windows literally HATES it, and I bet you thought operating systems couldn't have emotions...

Yes!!! Although in the long run it is still advisable to reinstall.

BEFORE you remove the drive from the old PC boot into windows and change the IDE/Sata driver to microsofts (iirc) standard IDE controller.

In 99% of times the pc will boot fine.
