I've been noticing a high pitch noise emanating from my PC, could it be from my PSU, as I've been reading about the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610, and on their website they say they stop this by moving the fan further back which apparently stop a high pitch noise.

Could this be the same noise I am hearing?

Anybody know when Aria will be getting more of these in?

This high pitch noise it starting to drain on me, even is the noise wasn't there the power supply is only as quiet as my non branded 370W with 92mm fan!

Coiler I presume your PSU has a 8-pin CPU connector?

Are you sure its the PSU and not the GPU?

GPUs are known to sometimes squeel a little

8pin mobo, 1x pci-e 6 pin, 1x pci-e 8/6 pin, 24 pin atx, loads of sata, molex, the works.

Quite a few members on here paid the extra and went for the Silencer 750 and rate it too.

Does this noise happen when only overclocking?

The noise could be because its being asked to do too much work? the board might be pulling too much power through the 4pin mobo connector and needs the other 4 pins connected.

On most graphics cards which require additional 6 pin PCI-e power if you forget to connect the additional power the GFX card fan squeals like a pig. Could be a similar case with your lack of additional 4 pin power?

i still don't have a proper gfx card, as i'm using a passivly cooled 8400. so its not that squeeling. it still squeeling when the computer is off n only goes away when you turn off the psu on the back.

i have cool n quiet on aswell so the loading is minimal.

Ok not gonna send my power supply back to OCZ as the P&P costs urrrm £25 and will take 5 weeks to get there:lol:

Aria should take it back though ^^ as it is unfit for purpose :thumbsdn:

isn't it faulty? on a previous post you mentioned pc was crashing again whilst using it? or was that your 360 cheapo one? i'm confused! LOL

Its unfit for use as its making squealing noises and the fan is loud, which isn't what the power supple should be like, and its common in these power units (unfortunatly).

The computer doesn't randomly restart, unless you try and manually increase the fan speed :p
