after comp is closed judge create a poll with the short list, so people can feel more involved, and select whom they thing the best participant as well as making your judging job easier :)

OR my idea from ages ago, worst PC built for x amount of money, you have to spend a minimum and have to have all the components for a working computer.. worst one wins!
What about 12 separate auctions. Each one capped at say £5 or £10, something affordable. Everyone gets one bid per auction and the highest non duplicated bid wins one? Money could go to a charity.
Auctions and charity gets awkward and there is always someone who writes into complain about the way it was done.
If Aria was to have its own mascott/superhero show us by dressing yourself or something up as it and taking a picture!
The hard drive idea is good, think i've got a old 40gb ide one somewhere :lol:

Hmmm not as easy as it sounds. The random number idea gives everyone an even chance, I do like that idea. Those who know me know I am always up for a limerick competition. How about placing the 12 hard drives in the office or warehouse and we can play spot the hard drives? Last idea, how about superimpose the Aria logo on a land mark or public event. The most amusing er 12 win? Just suggestions, I don't mind you think they are all pants.

Few things:
1) Bake something (bread / cakes / etc) thats related to Aria / SSD's and post pics!

might be an idea to have 4 separate comps with 3 prizes in each one (assuming there are 12 drives as pictured) though I still think one of them should just be a simple give away as I said earlier.
My only gripe would be that it limits it to people who own spares. Mine are all being used! ;_;

Something like the 2001 PC comp would be fun or even a comp based around having to design something i.e. a case, PC components, Smartphone.....etc
1. I think you should do a quick quiz and everyone with all the right answers gets put into a draw.
2. Game contest? Something simple like solitaire or another online game? Highest scores win.

An online quiz could be easy to knock up. Ten multiple choice questions and a tie breaker perhaps. Questions on all things aria or intel....

I really liked a couple of competitions you did a few months back where we had to identify the old PC part. Great for nostalgia.
Or just do a competition per good idea on this thread. I.e. give one away in a creative competition, one for a limmerick etc.

I enjoy most of the competitions, but only ever entered 1 of the "ms paint this" type...
there are people out there who are really creative, sadly I am not one of them.
Finding the ivy chips and codes on the aria website was a fun way to spend a Friday night :p Possibly more treasure hunt related comps to search through the website. Did find a lot of useful little bits when searching the last time.
Interested. Just give me one lol
another suggestion would be to lower the chances of people who won in the past, as it will make more fair for the unskilled like me :P

I like the idea of destroying things. I've got loads of drives which need destroying and I just need the motivation! An SSD sounds like the motivation I need.
Don't know if anyone has posted this but what about a spot the ball comp from one of the euro game, someone with awesome photo shop skills puts up a pic with the missing ball, we save and edit the pic with our guess and upload, nearest one wins, thinking about it again maybe a little hard to judge so just ignore me.:D

I have a crucial C300 64GB and its not really slowed down over the 1~year I've been using it.
Won an Intel SSD in a comp, put it in my parents PC and it boots in 15 sec. My PC takes about 30 ish, and theirs is more responsive.
Not sure if its down to the age of the OS (not a clean install in about a year and a bit) or what.
If you're still after competition ideas, how about this: The person who comes up with the most original competition idea wins the competition
why not do : Pick a number between 1 - 100? Then after a set time limit pick a number through a generator. If more then 1 person picked that number , use another generator to pick a winner !
Simple idea's always the best :)
How about a competition to guess how many of the giveaway SSDs were purchased in a space of time? Like "Between the start of this competition and the closing date how many of these SSDs will be purchased?" Closest answer wins :)
