Ok another thing I need to replace is my keyboard.

I'm currently using the Razer Lycosa and to put it simply, it's ****.

Constantly has issues with keys sticking then it randomly starts using the media buttons so unplugging and plugging it back in 2-3 times a day is just annoying.

So I need a keyboard to;
- Have backlight (pref blue)
- Silent typing
- Standard design (i.e. no 16 extra programmable keys)
- Have media buttons
- Wired

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I've really begun to dislike Razer after owning one of their keyboards (Arctosa) :p

Backlight absolutely necessary?

Some of the mechanical keyboards that are around now are really good as long as you don't get one with clicky switches.

I'm using Steelseries 6gv2, which ticks all the other boxes: almost standard keyboard layout (left win key is replaced with a function key to use the F1-F6 keys as media keys) silent typing (will take a little practice as you get used to not bottoming out on the keys), and it's wired.

Yeah I seen a few people say that you can get mechanical ones that are fairly silent but they don't have backlights.

Backlights preferred not absolutely necessary I guess.

Will look at it, thanks.

QPad MK80 do lovely keyboards which are fully backlit and have blue LEDs. Simply lovely keyboards! Few new ones coming out from Cougar soon, hopefully they hit the UK market.

Can always try the Roccat Isku keyboard? That's not bad at all for a non-mechanical keyboard.

What's the sound like on the MK80?

Any other suggestions? :p

competitor review;

- keystrokes are loud, care should be taken if you plan on using this keyboard late at night.
-Cherry blues are great for fps but can be fatiguing if you plan on typing for long periods of time or playing mmos

As the other chap says, its pretty loud so dont get it if you share a room and want to play late at night :)

Yeah it is very loud with the blue switches, my flatmate used to complain all the time. You can get it with a different switch though, brown would probably be best.

don't know if they're at all related, but i'm using an X6 atm
it's ok, software is easy peasy to figure out and use, not a bad board so long as you don't pay too much for one
don't know if i'd recommend though tbh, especially not with some of the deals Logitech have been spitting out the last few weeks..
