The MSI Twin Frozr cards have always been exceptional. Today we see if the GTX680 version continues the trend.

I watched this before leaving for work this morning, a little disapointing from MSI as there cards are usually mental overclockers that remain relatively cool and quiet. Still, as this may not be the best performer, id still take it over most competing cards just for the low noise.

Im curious why MSI use such a large dead zone on thier fans. As you mentioned towards the start of the review, the fans are tiny in comparison to other aftermarket cards and having such a large area of the fan doing nothing other than housing the motor seems a little strange, perhaps increasing the size of the fans by 5-10mm would allow better cooling and a slightly slower max RPM which would make it even quiter still.

I still prefer the look of thier smexy TFII cooler compared to the TFIII :D

Awesome review as always mate, I'm disappointed with MSI's coolers, i still think the TF2 was better, the TF3 is louder.

Asus DC2 still wins in terms of noise imo, could you review the Asus DC2 GTX 670 TOP? seams to be £60+ cheaper than a 680 and performs the same if not slightly faster in some benchmarks.

errr - 1440p is 2560x1440 - the benchies in all this test were at 1080p (1920x1080). :scratch

2560/1600 res would be nice too.

I think he may have meant it as he isnt going to drop 1080p for any other res at the moment :)

Lots of people still dont play in 1920x1080 and even less people play in resolutions higher than that, most cater for the masses as they are the results that people will look for most.

I think what Zoomee meant is that people opting to buy such gcards are more likely to be gaming at 1080p+ whether that be on 27/30inch monitors or using three displays so it would be nice to see results for such settings :).

Crazy day I thought he meant 19" widescreen res!
