For all those that have killed me on BF3, give me some feedback!
My kill ratio and accuracy is pretty low. I seem to walk into 'traps'. I lose a lot of one on ones. I can't hit a thing with a sniper rifle unless its close range.
Am I rubbish???

I have the same problem! I think it comes down to reaction times more than anything - quite a lot of the time, I haven't even raised my rifle before someone has shot me in the head :(
I wouldn't say you're rubbish...just not as good as people that spend 25 hours a day, 8 days a week on it!
Easiest way would be to chose someone same rank and click on their stats ...you will then get the comparison screen and bars should give you some indication...

depends on a lot of things really, do you have semi decent mouse, are you playing on low graphics so its easier to hit stuff? alot do.
I'm using a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse - I was wondering whether a better mouse might help.
I'm playing at 1920x1080 on the auto settings, on a gtx580
try setting your upload speed to about half what its max is so that way people will struggle to hit you as well.

No mate your name is scrivz69, welcome to the club of fail.:D
is it really that bad??
what mouse would you suggest?
the ms lag you get with wireless can be the difference between you getting teh kill and getting killed dude, not saying it is the only reason but it wont be helping.
"gaming" keyboard and mouse has been the best thing i got for playing games imo, when i got my first mouse my game went up and i instantly started to do better.
more new stuff it is - need to do some trades to get some 'non girlfriend moderated funds'

Now that made me spit coffee everywhere!
sadly is true!
I'm gonna loan myself some 'NGMF' til i sell my spare GTX460. Which mouse should I buy? (like today so it arrives tomorrow, tomorrow is BF3 night - if she can tell me how I spend my money, I can decide when I play!)
big fan of razor mice here but tbh they are brittle.
I have to be honest owning plenty of keyboards and mice my rules are.
Keyboard - must have the layout of keys I use, must be wired.
Mouse - 9000+ dpi, wired
I would avoid something with a dozen buttons everywhere and go for high dpi and comfortable. Currently rocking something razer and a £3 keyboard.
I would vote for Razer. But they aren't as natural as others.
You could do with some more practice flying jets and helis, just got to avoid fags using laser painters and guided missiles! :)
I am using a PS2 keyboard and a microsoft mouse :D

You saw my crashes? lol
Gigabyte M6900 is great for cheapo.

I think i was in one of your crashes :D
Yeah wireless sucks.
I own a Microsoft Habu and Saitek Eclipse II...they're both about 4-5 years old but are still awesome!
If you want to get better mate then I'd say head on Mumble as well, but main things I'd suggest is play the objective, pick up other people's kit to see what they're using and get a feel of other good weapons and just experiment with things. Flying jets took me ages to sort out, same with little birds, and now I'm still learning the attack heli's! All about practise dude.
I was the same as you. Wireless mouse and keyboard, shot repeatedly, awful stats.
I now own a G500 mouse and a G15 keyboard and............................................... ....

I suck harder than ever.
Logitech G500
this a million times
Razer stuff is really good IMO, got a BlackWidow and a Lachesis and they both rock on BF3.
And I completely suck apart from in tanks and helis and I'm quite good in those.

this, and tbh their 8000 range are epic and well priced too.
now the proud owner of a G500, no stock at aria :-(
going on now for a killing spree!
btw dude i dont think you are a bad player, just need some more awareness of your surroundings but that will only come with time in game to learn the maps and that.
Hey dude, i can honestly say that I haven't seen you play or taken notice of your scores (Sounds horrible but i Don't mean it in a bad way). It's not about k/d in Battlefield, it's about PTFO as people would say. The biggest thing in BF3 you have, that you should use to your advantage is the mini-map! This is basically like having no walls!!!! Glance at your minimap where ever you go, before you go round a corner, into a room and if you're entering an enemy flag area! Doing this will stop about 50-75% of those moment when you turn a corner and someone has shot your face before you can think!
The second best thing you have is your "Q" button, if you're on the move, taking a flag, driving or flying a jet/chopper; NEVER stop pressing it. I will constantly press Q roughly every second to where ever im aiming!! If your eyes can't see an enemy, I can guarantee that your virtual man can!
Accuracy isn't really a big deal either, it depends how you play and what weapons you use. I personally never stop moving, i rarely camp, even when capping a flag, always on the move constantly looking at the mini-map and choosing what i'm going to do next. I anticipate that there is going to be an enemy round every corner unless i'm in an area where I don't think there will be anyone. Using LMG's will get you a low accuracy, dont worry about it. Using Assualt rifles and carbines should gain you a higher accuracy but it really depends on how you use them! Some people like to burst fire, 2-5 bullets at a time which allows them to have low recoil. Some people like to, what some people call "spray"... like me... however I have 21.3% accuracy! If i see an enemy running, i will continue to shoot untill hes dead, using recoil control to stop stray bullets. If i see multiple targets then I usually take cover, throw a nade which gives me an advantage then I will rush.
Anyway, sorry for the long reply. Hope you can take some tips away from that... Not just you, anyone. Any further questions just ask dude.
Overall...have fun! forget about the nuimbers and just enjoy yourself...
The problem is I can't, I'm too busy raging at people!
I killed two people with my SG553 earlier, should have heard my reaction... :P
j07cmt whats your battlelog name ive not seen you on? i play pretty much as meadsy4 has described and seem to have similar stats but holy moly meadsy. 550+ hours! thats ridiculous!
haha finners! Yup I have a lot of playtime, lol. You were on the other day weren't you with some buddies?
battlelog is same as aria! (this should be the rule so I know who is killing me)
Mine is the same, ill add you now

yeah i dont play on the aria server much its even on TDM or conquest normally, not my favourite modes. Was getting my ***'d kicked too on there lol
as for trying to improve your accuracy j07cmt, make sure you have mouse acceleration off in windows and have raw mouse input selected in game.

Where are the spinnaz ? :D
For me the two most important aspects of 'playing well' are:
1. Map knowledge
2. Exploiting what you expect other players to do in specific situations.

One of the most over looked skillz when it comes to BF3 is running into corners. Most noobs/newbs sprint everywhere including around corners, which is where a lot of deaths happens.
My point? Run across open spaces. As soon as you get to a corner stop sprinting, you can either raise the sights before you go around the corner so you are faced with whatever dangers may be there, or "peak" - a common CS:S tactic, where you literally just peak around a corner as quick as possible, this way, anything waiting for you doesn't have time to react.
Just some tips from a pro!
