Hi all,

I have a problem. Just bought a new graphics card.

Nvidia Geforce NX7900 (PCI-E)

Went to install it and because of the arrangement of the sockets and cables on my current motherboard the card will not fit. Its too long and is obstructed by a large cable cluster.

If I can solve this without buying a new motherboard please tell me otherwise, can you suggest a new motherboard.

I need one that supports- PCI-E, DDR2 PC-3200 / 400Mhz RAM, IDE HDD and P4 -HT processor.

Can anyone help??

The cheapest and easiest thing would be to tuck your cabling at the back of your case, and under the mobo board. If possible get all these cables running down there. What size case, as i wouldve thought that any normal case would be fine.

My motherboard is not AGP, its PCI-E.

Its not the cabling thats in the way, its the actual socket that the cable cluster is connected to. There is no other socket on the motherboard that the cable will connect to.

Its a 775 socket.

Its not the case size thats the problem. Its would all fit fine if the socket wasnt in the way.

Are you after a ATX board mate?

Thanks for the help.

I don't know much about mobos. I've changed RAM, Graphics cards and hdds in the past but never done any work on mobos.

Will that Mobo you suggests take my DDR2 PC -3200 / 400mhz RAM and P4 - HT processor?

I don't know what an ATX Mobo is.

My system information says its Socket 775 in CPU 1.

If you know more about AMD and you can find a MOBO and Processor that will support my RAM, Graphics and IDE HDD then that might be easier. I am grateful for any help you can offer.

About £100 for Mobo and the same for CPU(Ret).

Do you know about PSU also?
I have a 300W and the Graphics card wants 400W min.

Are they easy to replace?
