View Full Version : Advice
I'm in the process of a new build and would like advice on the peripherals. I'm currently looking at:
- Roccat Kave 5.1 Headset
- Logitech C270 HD Webcam
- Logitech K270 Wireless Keyboard
- Gigabyte ECO600 Wireless Mouse
You views would be greatly appreciated.
Own a Razer Lachesis and Black Widow, both are very good and I highly recommend them the Black Widow especially :)
i would recommend a logitech g9x mouse, fantastic mouse, very precise, has made me better at BF3 undoubtedly, great DPI, and has 2 different interchangeable grips :D
Logitech G500 is the best mouse I've ever used. If you've got big hands you'll love it.
- Roccat Kave 5.1 Headset YES
- Logitech C270 HD Webcam YES
- Mouse and Keyboard NO: wireless = fail.
Before I can recommend anything, what do you plan on using them for?

I've never used the kaves buy highly recommend getting SteelSeries Siberia v2 amazing headset!
Microsoft Webcams are awesome as well, might be worth looking at alongside Logitech.
Mouse for me is the MS Intellimouse Explorer 3, gonna be distraught when it dies, although there are a few mice out there now that resemble the design, such as the new Zowie one;

I'm sure I've been really helpful ;) Also, if you're gaming, definitely don't get wireless keyboard/mouse :(
Was planning on gaming so will look at wired options. I just hate having loads of wires around

Agree with you there, I have a Microsoft Habu which is the Body of an Intellimouse with Razer insides

Left to right: Intellimouse, Deathadder, Habu
Feels so comfy :)
Roccat gear normally has horrible build quality, known 4 mouses to die, and 1 of those headsets.
Is that a left handed intellimouse
They all look right handed to me - thumb buttons on the left.
But no where to rest the thumb
looking to spend around £30-40 on a mouse so would like a gaming mouse. What would you recommend? R.A.T 3?
Cyborg's RAT range are some very good mice, fantastic build quality and performance.
If you're looking for bang-for-buck, Roccat's Kone[+] is a decent mouse with lots of features and does actually have a reasonable build quality to it. Logitech also have some lovely mice and their CS is also very good.
I'd be tempted to recommend a mechanical keyboard with either black or red switches - they may cost a lot, but they are simply fantastic and once you have used one, you'd never go back to a normal rubber dome keyboard.
As you can probably tell though, choosing the right mouse/keyboard/headset is entirely down to preference. There are many out there that have the same guts, but just look different. So it's entirely down to you. I'd recommend trying to drop into a place that sells gaming mice, just so you can get a feel and actually handle the mouse.

Thanks, will try and find somewhere local that sells a selection so that I can get a feel of a wide range of mice.
Just watched reviews on the Roccat kone + (like a lot) and the Razer black widow keyboard (also like a lot but quite a bit of money)

sorry, roccat build quality isnt there at all and isnt worth going for. While the 'performance' is amongst the best.. it really doesnt make any difference if you have to buy a new one or RMA within 6months or a year. buy a quality kb and mouse. Razer are proven favourites and logitech and MS make excellent quality peripherals.
Keyboard is down to preference but for a mouse I would recommend a steel series sensei.
Just found the Cyborg R.A.T 7 Contagion, my rig is going to be white and blue so this will fit my rig
Just thought white mouse and black keyboard don't go so will get normal R.A.T 7 and Razer Blackwidow mechanical keyboard
